Kessler Soils Engineering (KSE) is a Northern Virginia Corporation established in 1994 and licensed by the U.S. Government to manufacture and market the dual-mass Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP). Our Kessler DCP started with the US Army Corps of Engineers design for a portable, easy to use soil testing device. It determines a soil's load bearing capacity CBR (California Bearing Ratio) for designing roads and airfields on the spot. The Kessler DCP is unique; it features a patented dual-mass hammer and disposable cones. Numerous improvements have been made to the original hand held DCP and today we also offer portable stiffness instruments, moisture measuring devices, and automated DCPs.
Customer satisfaction is of primary importance to the organization. Orders are shipped from our distribution center in Chicago. Kessler Soils Engineering has engineers on call to assist users in understanding how equipment works. In addition, our sales personnel and friendly office staff will help in any way they can to ensure customer satisfaction.
We are proud of our follow up with our customers. This feedback from the field has led to manufacturing refinements and improvements in techniques that are shared with other customers and incorporated into future instrument design and user manual updates.
We acknowledge the special employees of the Bergmann Center, Charlevoix, Michigan for their contributions to our quality assurance program. They assist us by individually inspecting each of our Disposable Cones.
